Lighting Starts a New Life | Simon ProtoPixel "OASIS" Lighting up Digital Art Feast

This is not only a show but also an invitation for immersive experience and reflection.

In April, the Digital Impact Exhibition in Barcelona, Spain, opened and would continue to be displayed until August 27, with the area of the exhibition hall more than 4,000m³, 15 world famous digital artists inviting people to a digital art visual feast combining arts, physics and virtual design through the state of the art technology.

With the invitation of his old friend - Antoni Arola, a Spanish design master, Simon ProtoPixel worked with him to complete a creative and profound digital art project - "OASIS."

This time, Antoni Arola proposed a fascinating creative concept: creating a sky-colored "palace" in a dome-like structure, with the aim of expressing and depicting the essence of a vibrant atmosphere, such as aurora borealis, sandstorms and tropical rain. In this project, Simon ProtoPixel serves as the conceptual partner.

“OASIS” is the result of close collaboration between ProtoPixel and the Antoni Arola team, with ProtoPixel Create to create a different spatial lighting atmosphere, synchronizing lighting control with projection videos. This combination creates a realistic atmosphere where precisely controlled lighting perfectly compensates for the granular effects generated by video projection.

The ProtoPixel Create software customizes different atmospheres and also represents several landscapes from different locations around the world. The device finally formed via the ProtoPixel platform integrates ecological art and digital art, not only bringing the audience the scientific, technological and artistic fantasies, but also arousing the audience's deep thinking about the community of shared future, and awakening people's concern and thinking about the atmospheric environment.

Before that, Antoni Arola designed the architectural art lighting - FLUVIA Loop Series for Simon and won the 2018 iF Gold Award and Reddot "Best of the Best." The Loop Series break through the traditional indoor lighting concept, which can be used alone or in combination to meet various needs, providing a brand new lighting design space. In 2020, Simon, as the global partner of Narrating Heritage • Tulou Architectural Culture Exhibition, Simon teamed up with Antoni Arola to design an art experiment called "Reflection of Lighting" device to make cultures collide, and stimulate the resonance of art and emotion.

Visual artists are good at using imagination and creativity, while the Simon ProtoPixel platform interprets creativity with technology, creating new lighting forms of immersive experience and dynamic interactive presentation, which makes the present meet the future, making the digital art field glow with new vitality. It is believed that Simon ProtoPixel will continue to probe into lighting and realize all-around "future lighting!"
